every month i get an email from my old broker. there are great little emails giving tidbits about the status of new york real estate as well as great restaurant suggestions. they seem harmless, and i'm sure my broker thinks nothing when he starts the email off with 'Dear Hector & Jimmy'.
See, we had used the broker to find out first, and subsequently last, apartment together. Those four words send me back into a whirlwind of thought.
Hats off to you, Jerrie Butler. Sometimes it's good to remember.
on that note, i'm not happy. i feel successful. but i'm not happy. it creeps up on you. it's strange that at one moment, everything feels perfect, and then it creeps up on you. and that's when i remember that i'm not happy.
and i've gotten worse at faking it.

Jimmy,
You're a bright light in a sea of drudgery.
Keep your chin up.
